Our Mission is to empower and support womxn in the food industry.
Womxn currently make up 52% of all restaurant workers, with 71% as servers, 55% as bartenders, but only 19% as chefs. The numbers prove that we are quickly put into the role of service, but hardly trusted to lead.
The food industry has the highest reports of sexual harassment by a landslide compared to other lines of work. When Womxn are in leadership positions, we can commit to changing these statistics by shifting our workplace culture.
The Table is committed to closing the gap in representation and leadership of womxn in the food industry. By providing an environment to cultivate and showcase talent, we will create a paradigm shift in championing the next generation of chefs and independent food makers. We believe that access to a strong community of industry experts, in addition to emotional and leadership development, will pave the way towards opportunity and exposure.
